Ember Valley: 18in x 26in
Ember Valley captures the moment a mountain sunset transforms into something extraordinary. Flowing skies, glowing peaks, and a winding river of color combine to create a landscape that feels alive with movement and energy.
Inspired by the Appalachian Mountains surrounding my home in Southwest Virginia, this piece reimagines a familiar landscape through vibrant color and sweeping forms. Deep violets, brilliant magentas, fiery oranges, and warm pinks blend together to create a scene that shifts between tranquility and motion depending on where the eye settles.
Every element was individually cut, shaped, sanded, painted, and assembled by hand in my workshop. The sculpted contours create depth and shadow throughout the piece, allowing the colors to change character as natural light moves across the surface.
Rather than capturing a single place, Ember Valley is meant to capture a feeling—the warmth of a setting sun, the glow of the mountains at day’s end, and the sense of wonder that comes from standing still long enough to appreciate it.
Whether displayed in a home, office, lodge, cabin, or creative space, Ember Valley was designed to be a bold focal point that brings color, movement, and conversation into the room.
